As a teenager, I used to forget about the struggles of older people.

To me, it seemed like only teenagers were suicidal and that with age comes maturity and stability that just removes the idea of suicide from our head.

I was so wrong.

Lately, I've been paying attention, and I've come to realise how some struggles just never end. Maturity doesn't just magically take away all the woes.

Thank you for these articles, Joe. My dad's friend committed suicide recently and that was a really hard thing for me to process. To know that he wasn't alone and many others like him suffer can help us be more attentive to people in need.
