I'm glad that we both can have this meaningful conversation and yes you're right about the author's (and many like her) hypocritical views.
My parents had an arranged marriage too, everyone from my family had one. Some are happy and some are not. Just like in love marriages, but saying that the way arranged marriages are done right now is good, is just distorting facts.
The way this author said "western women having to deal with body-shaming is the same as the east being obsessed with virginity of women" is hilarious.
Women in the West are not stoned to the death or killed for not looking attractive but women, especially in Pakistan, do die because of honour killings.
I'm pretty sure this author lives in UK and will never go back to Pakistan because deep down she knows what it is. Glorifying a culture while being miles away from it is just extremely hypocritical.
