I was never able to pinpoint why I don't like the "writing gurus"; they always sound so similar, but now I think it's because of the lack of merism.

Like in 1984, people talk in an insanely simple language (Newspeak), which had the theory of " Why do we need synonyms, hard words, etc when we can talk in a simple way?", to me a lot of "writing gurus" are doing the same thing.

These type of writing lacks depth and a style of our own. I guess that's why AI can replace so many articles written today.
